Historical and Cultural Impressions of Pakistan exhibition held in Beijing

BEIJING – Pakistan on Monday in collaboration with China World Peace Foundation organised an art exhibition at the Peace Garden Museum in Beijing.

The exhibition celebrated the “Historical and Cultural Impressions of Pakistan.” Ms Geng Ying, chairperson of China Cultural Heritage Foundation was the chief guest on the occasion.

The exhibition showcased the calligraphic, miniature and illumination art work of Pakistan’s leading artists including Mr Abdul Rasheed Butt, Ms Farrah Mahmood, Ms Alia Bilgrami, Ms Amna Hashmi, Mr Nasir Khan Seemab, Ms Saima Ali, Ms Saira Butt and Ms Zohreen Murtaza.

According to China.org.cn, Mr Masood Khalid, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, highlighted the importance of people-to-people contacts and cultural connectivity between Pakistan and China. He said that the art exhibition is a reflection of cultural exchange and growing people-to-people connectivity between the two countries. He mentioned that along with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a cultural corridor is also envisaged between the two countries to lead to greater cultural exchanges.

The event was attended by a large number of people including officials from the Chinese government, intellectuals, artists, representatives of the civil society and members of the Pakistani community.

The art exhibition is part of the year-long activities being organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence.
