Egypt- At a night out with her husband this 50 year old Egyptian feminist faced harassment. She shared her experience with other females out there setting an example one of a kind. Along with her story she started a hashtag #IBeatMyAssaulter which was a long campaign creating space for women to get out of their shells.

She narrated how she was groped by a man who was 6”2 whereas Eltahawy was only 5”4 but that didn’t stop her from beating the life out of the assaulter. The man groped her on the dance floor and in return rather than staying quiet about it she made sure to hit him hard enough.

She was there with her husband who stood aside and watched all of this happen as Eltahawy was in action because he knew she could take care of herself. He stopped other people who tried intervening by telling them off “ No , no, no you don’t touch her. He assaulted her” .

“I was taking care of it and he knew it, I am not his property to be defended” she wrote
Eltahawy proves how she is a lady but not weak and she can take care of herself by providing herself safety.

Women should stand up against their harassers rather than walking away
They should be taught a life long lesson.
