BEIJING – Chinese manufacturer Smartisan has launched world’s first 1TB storage smartphone R1.
The Smartisan R1 is a sharp-cornered phablet that packs dual cameras, an impressive notched display, and some of the latest internal hardware.
Design
The R1 features a 3D glass on the back and grade 7 aluminum while on the front there’s a 6.17-inch pressure-sensitive display with 1080 x 2424 pixels of resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Camera
On the rear, it has a dual set up consisting of two Sony sensors. The main IMX363 can shoot 12 MP photos, at f/1.8 aperture, and is aided by a 20 MP IMX350 f/1.75 lens. It also sports 4-axis OIS for the main camera. Front facing camera is an impressive 20 MP unit, boasting a f/2.0 aperture size.
Chipset and Storage
Smartisan R1 powered by 2.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, Adreno 630 GPU and RAM come in both 6 and 8 GB.
There are four different variants available – 6 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, and then the top of the line variant has 8 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
The Smartisan R1 supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+, but unlike the other phones released with the tech so far, this one actually comes with a Quick Charge 4+ charger inside the box for filling up the 3,600 mAh battery.
The device will be available in Pure White and Carbon Black and the price are as follow:

- 8GB RAM + 1TB – CNY8,848 ($1388)
