LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi has on Monday announced that he would retain the seat of Punjab Assembly while would relinquish both seats of National Assembly (NA).
Elahi has taken this decision after meeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala.
Elahi overtly rejected the stance that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz enjoys the majority in Punjab. He went on to say that he had never practised politics of blackmailing and would never do so in the future.
He lauded the role of Pak Army in ensuring transparent and fair elections. On a question about the alliance with PTI, Elahi stated that he did so to restore justice and peace in the country.
