ISLAMABAD – After an appeal made by Prime Minister Imran Khan to the nation for donations of funds to curb water crisis, residents and overseas Pakistanis have responded overwhelmingly to the national cause raising the amount to nearly Rs2 billion.
The assumptions started making rounds over the internet after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed reportedly told PM Khan that a Pakistani-American Shahid Khan was willing to donate 1 billion USD.

However, there was no confirmation from billionaire businessman and philanthropist who is also the owner of Fulham Football Club.
Meanwhile, Senator Faisal Javed rejected the rumors saying that he did not make any statement like this.

Earlier, PM Khan urged Pakistanis in Europe and the US to contribute $1000 at least, adding that no one will give us loans but we have to construct this dam.
The prime minister said it was important for Pakistan to build dams as failure to do so would be detrimental to future destinations.
