Bollywood movie Manmarziyan banned for release in Pakistan

MUMBAI – The Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) has not cleared recently released Bollywood movie Manmarziyan for release in Pakistan. CBFC Chairman Danyal Gilani has said that CBFC’s members unanimously considered the film’s content to be in violation of the censorship code, a local publication reported on Saturday.

Earlier, Bollywood films Pari and Veere Di Wedding were also banned for release in the country.

Manmarziyaan is a rom-com starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.  Manmarziyan is a romantic comedy that features Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. The film is set in Punjab and follows the story of a young couple, Rumi (essayed by Taapsee Pannu) and Vicky (played by Vicky Kaushal), who is madly in love.

While being intimate, they are caught by Rumi’s family, who start pressurizing them to get married. But Vicky gets cold feet and fails to bring his parents over for an official proposal. Eventually, she gives up on him and agrees to get married to the guy of her parent’s choice and that‘s when Robbie (essayed by Abhishek Bachchan) enters the proverbial love triangle.

The movie was released in India September 14, 2019.
