ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing annual income tax returns and statements to September 30, said a notification issued by tax regulator.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar revised the deadline due to the fact that a majority of tax consultants have gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
As a standard practice, the FBR extends the deadline multiple times each year to encourage people to file their returns.
Earlier, the last date for filing the returns for 2016-17 was August 31.
