SRINAGAR – Iram Habib has become the first Muslim woman to render services as a commercial pilot from Indian occupied Kashmir (Iok).
The 30-year old gave up her doctorate degree in forestry to fulfill her dream.
Iram’s road to becoming a pilot was never easy due to continuing state of operation at the hands of Indian regime.
Habib is currently under training in Delhi to join as a junior first officer at private airline.
In an interview with a Indian leading daily, Habib said that her basic pilot training was completed in the US and she is passionate about her profession.
She is to succeed Tanvi Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit, who joined Air India as the Valley’s first woman pilot in 2016.
