SEOUL – Smartphone manufacturer Samsung has reportedly codenamed it’s upcoming Galaxy S10 as ‘Beyond’.
According to Korean publication The Bell, the south-tech giant’s 10th anniversary of the Galaxy range (Galaxy S10), will go by the codename throughout its development process.
The Galaxy S10 will be distinctly different from its predecessors; the company might finally introduce much-awaited in-display fingerprint sensor (FOD) with the Galaxy S10 this year followed by Galaxy Note 9 as well, the report suggests.
A previous report by the same publication suggested that the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ won’t be that different compared to their predecessors in terms of design. They’re said to feature a 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch Infinity Display respectively with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The latest report also mentions that the company has informed FOD companies that it’s going to introduce an in-display fingerprint sensor with the Galaxy S10.
The companies that it’s working on this technology with include Synaptics, Qualcomm and Ezestek but the final vendor for the sensors has not yet been confirmed.
There’s also a possibility that Samsung might add a 3D camera to the Galaxy S10 which will allow for improved facial recognition and tracking enhancing the functionality of AR Emoji but it is not currently known if the Samsung Galaxy will feature 3D sensing technology on the front.
