KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh High Court on Tuesday uplifted the longstanding ban on film “Maalik” and ordered immediate release of the film.
According to the details, the political thriller film was declared “uncertified for the whole of Pakistan” by the ministry of information in April.
The director of the movie Ashir Azeem moved to Sindh High Court against the ban and asked the court to give a green signal for the release of film. In his petition, Asher Azeem has told the court that “Maalik” does not contain any material which is against the state or nation, although, facts have been brought to surface.
After hearing the petition the court declared ban on Urdu feature film ‘Maalik’ null and void. “Maalik” was banned just three weeks after its release on April 27.
