CHICHAWATNI – At least two persons including a driver were burnt alive when fire erupted in a trailer near Chichawatni area of district Sahiwal, Punjab, a rescue official said on Tuesday.
A fully loaded trailer coming from Karachi to Lahore went out of driver’s control and crashed into a tree on bypass road, following which the trailer caught fire, leaving two persons including a driver burnt alive.
The bodies were shifted to local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased were identified as Saeed, driver, and Mohammad Umar.
However, Fayaz, a helper managed to save his life by jumping out of the trailer. The police said that incident occurred after driver snoozed during driving.
The police have started an investigation.
