Panama pleas: PM s counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan s leave application conditionally approved

ISLAMABAD –  Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar has conditionally approved leave application of prime minister’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan in the Panama Leaks case.

Khan had requested the apex court to grant him leave amid Panama Leaks case hearings from February 13 to February 24 owing to personal commitments. He stated that he had completed his arguments and so his absence won’t affect the hearings.

The approval order states that the leave would not be effective if a hearing of the case is scheduled in the meantime.

It is relevant to mention that the apex court was currently hearing a landmark case regarding Panama Leaks on daily basis, but due to health issue of justice Azmat Saeed, who is member of the five-member bench, the hearing has been adjourned subject to his availability.

The hearing was expected to resume on Monday however, it is likely to be held on February 13 now.
