CHENNAI (Web Desk) – Police have detained two men who forced a four -year-old boy to drink alcohol. The police took action after video of the incident went viral on social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp. Police are also looking for the other men who featured in the video, including the boy’s uncle. The incident occurred near a lake at Mel Cholankuppam village of Tiruvannamalai district, 200 km away from away Chennai, on June 30. Reportedly, the boy, belonging to Sozhankupam village in Thrivuvannamalai district, was taken to the lake by his maternal uncle Murugan and his friend Manikandan. Three other men – Ezhumalai, Rajaram and Premkumar – joined them for a drinking alcohol session and forced the boy to join them in drinking beer. After the 95-second video was posted on WhatsApp, police swung into action and traced Ezhumalai through the registration number of his motorcycle that surfaced in the video. They then picked up Ezhumalai and Premkumar. The video shows the scared boy saying no when he is offered the beer in a plastic cup but the men kept egging him on to drink and to eat peanuts kept in a plastic bag.
