Dogs walk in UK streets demanding new Wooferendum on Brexit

LONDON – In an act of protest against the policies of Thresa May’s government, many people marched on UK roads on Sunday, with their dogs, demanding a ‘woofrendum’ on Brexit.

The demonstrators demanded an end to Brexit via a second vote, arguing that animals would suffer from leaving the EU with a shortage of vets and a rise in pet food costs.

Bulldogs, both English and French breeds, Huskies, Chihuahuas, boxers and beagles and even a lumbering Leonberger were among those walking through central London to Parliament Square.

The march backed a wider campaign for a ‘People’s Vote’ on Brexit, at which Britons would have the chance to vote on whatever Brexit deal Prime Minister Theresa May is able to bring back from EU.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has ruled out a new Brexit poll, saying it would betray the result of the 2016 vote and destroy trust in politicians.

But politicians from all parties have joined a growing movement for Britons to have the chance to say whether they have changed their minds.

Theresa May triggered the Brexit process on 29 March, 2017, meaning the UK is scheduled to leave at 11pm UK time on Friday, 29 March 2019.
