ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Islamabad today (Tuesday) on a 3-day visit.
The queen is the UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate (UNSGSA) for Inclusive Finance for Development.
During her visit, the Queen will have meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain besides other engagements with a range of stakeholders from the public and private sectors, officials said.
Inclusive Finance for Development is one of the key priorities of the government’s economic development policies. Pakistan has taken a number of important measures in recent years, including the launch of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS), in order to promote the key objectives of financial inclusion.
Financial inclusion, launched in May 2015, the strategy aims to expand the availability of the financial tools the poor need to protect themselves against hardship and improve their lives.
