Why has Miss Universe Denmark been dethroned?

COPENHAGEN – Christina Mikkelsen, who represented Denmark at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant at the Philippines, has been stripped of her title of Miss Denmark.

The beauty queen, 24, caught up in a criminal investigation after her former flame, Teodorin Obiang, was accused of money laundering.

Now, the organizers of the Face of Denmark have stripped Christina of her crown after competing in Miss Universe 2016, citing the investigation as the main reason.

According to the Denmark organisation, Christina Mikkelsen is a part of a certain criminal investigation that revolves around National Director John Paul Hamilton who handles the pageant.

The news was broken to Christina a few hours before she was about to go live on the Danish Morning show.

Christina Mikkelsen has accused the Mr. Hamilton of sending her text messages demanding sexual favors off her.

Media reports suggested the series of messages allegedly began with John asking Christina to shed 8 kilos of weight to asking her to send photos of herself in a bikini.

Christina has a degree in Politics and Journalism and hails from Copenhagen.

The beauty queen loves to work for charity and she volunteered for a year in China working for different causes.
