ISLAMABAD (APP) – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has halted the operation of the Al-Khair University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) and has warned students around the country from taking “admission in the university”.
Al-Khair University AJ&K has been barred by the HEC from enrolling students from fall 2016 onwards for all academic levels.
An HEC spokesperson, on Thursday, said that the decision had been taken due to the mismanagement observed in the running of the university.
HEC has also advised students and their parents against enrolling in any Al-Khair’s branches,
campuses and affiliated colleges, warning that the degrees of the students enrolled in the university after fall 2016 will not be recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
Some sources claim that the decision was made after several complaints about the university being involved in selling degrees to the students.
