LAHORE – Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi announced Tuesday that he has donated to the government’s fund for construction of two new dams, requesting the people to contribute for the national cause.
The anchor-cum-artist turned to Twitter to publically declare his endowment to the fund established on the order of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar for the construction of two dams — 4,500MW Diamer-Bhasha and 700MW Mohmand.
The CJP also appealed to the general public, including Pakistanis residing abroad, to donate for the cause, and also contributed Rs1 million to the account. His donation was the first contribution to the said account, according to a press release on the Supreme Court’s website.
