KARACHI – Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt, a prime suspect in murder of Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case, was arrested from Karachi.
Reports said Gogi Butt was arrested near Burns Road in the southern port city of Karachi. The officials of the Punjab Police would bring him back to the province to produce him before court.
Meanwhile, DIG South Asad Raza said that the Karachi Police were not informed about the arrest of Butt.
In March 2024, prime suspects Khawaja Tareef alias Teefi Butt and Gogi Butt in Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case had been declared proclaimed offenders (POs).
Despite over passing of several months, the accused persons had not surrender before police but were on the run. Teefi Butt is out of the country and Gogi Butt was hiding inside the county.
Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Tipu Truckanwala, was attending a marriage ceremony in a private housing society earlier this year when he had been shot dead by a suspected shooter later identified as Muzaffar Hussain, a gunman of Teefi Butt, for 30 years.
Muzaffar himself was shot dead instantly after the murder. Teefi and Gogi were nominated in FIR registered by Ameer Moasab, younger brother of Balaj.
