LAHORE – Amid outages, the government after amending Police Rules, 1934 has reduced minimum and maximum age limits for selection of the candidates for Punjab Police, Dunya News reported.
According to the amendment introduced after 73 years, the government has set minimum age at 18 years and maximum at 22 years. Earlier, the minimum age was stated as 22 years and maximum at 25 years.
Similarly, the government has set age of retirement at 50 years.
Former Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera had sent a summary to government seeking key reforms in the rules.
Meanwhile, constables and other police staff have refused the amendments to police rules.
