ISLAMABAD – Gunshots were fired at law enforcement agencies in the G-11 and G-13 Sectors of Islamabad, raising the security to a high state of alert.
In a statement, the police stated that “the situation is being monitored.”
Gunshots were reportedly heard close to the Islamabad High Court, where Imran Khan is currently awaiting police security clearance. Even after hearings in multiple cases, he has not yet left for Lahore.
Rangers were summoned back in to help the capital police deal with the crisis after being previously deployed for security during PTI leader Imran Khan’s court hearings.
Following the development, law enforcement has started a search operation throughout the high court.
