KABUL – A senior commander of Daesh group, Khetab Emir, has been killed in a raid in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province.
In a statement on Sunday, a spokesman for US forces based in Afghanistan said Emir was killed on last Thursday.
The spokesman added that Emir facilitated high-profile attacks and supplied Daesh fighters with weapons and materials to make explosives.
Meanwhile, at least 28 militants including 18 Taliban and 10 Daesh rebels were killed in NATO airstrikes in Jwand district of northwestern Badghis province.
The governor’s spokesman said raids targeted Taliban and Daesh hideouts in the Panjbuz locality of the district.
He said NATO forces also captured forty militants and their hideouts.
