NEW YORK – Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, was shot in the ear during a Saturday rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The attacker and at least one civilian are reportedly dead, while two attendees suffered injuries. Investigators said gunman fired multiple shots from an elevated position outside before being shot by Secret Service personnel.

He took position on a building rooftop, and got clear view of Trump’s position. After the shooting, clips show former president Trump being quickly escorted away by security with blood on his face.
Those who were attending rally called the event as chaotic, with many initially mistaking the gunfire for fireworks. Donald Trump spokesperson said he is doing fine, as he was grazed by a bullet on the upper part of his right ear.
As the incident raised questions on safety, top federal agencies, including FBI, are now looking into the shooting as a potential assassination attempt.
Incumbent President Joe Biden reportedly had a word with Trump after the incident, expressing relief that Trump was unharmed. He also denounced shooting and called for national unity, stating, “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence.”
Meanwhile, politicians, global stars and social media users from the US and around the world also condemned the shooting and expressed their condolences to the victims.
