LAHORE – Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan, expressed on Friday that the Model Town tragedy was being re-investigated and legal action would be taken against those involved in it.
Talking to the media here, Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that the stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan about making bureaucracy non-political was absolutely right.
He expressed that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam in his address to bureaucracy had said that they were employees of the state and obeying orders as per laws was their obligation.
‘The bureaucracy had to work under the law to follow the orders of the government and it should not accept orders which were against rules, regulations and laws,’ said Chohan.
The minister continued that the bureaucracy should not accept any pressure highlighting that Fawad Hasan Fawad, the former principal secretary to the prime minister, was dictated for awarding the tender to a blue-eyed in sheer violation of the law.
He alleged that ministries and even prime minister were used to getting personal benefits in the past.
