MUMBAI – India have marched into the World Cup 2023 Final after outclassing New Zealand in the first semi-final of the grand fixture today.

Mohammad Shami took seven wickets to send the Kiwis back to pavilion, becoming the man of the match.

Earlier, brilliant knocks from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer powered India to post a giant target of 398 runs for New Zealand in Mumbai.

The Team Blue took a strong start with Rohit Sharma hitting 47 runs and Shubman Gill 79 before he was retired hurt.

Virat Kohli maintained the momentum and played a record-breaking inning of 117 runs before he was caught by Conway while Iyer also smashed a century to boost the total.

Sheryas Iyer also made 105 off 70 to give a boost to the total. He was dismissed after he pulled poorly and caught by Mitchell.

Playing second, New Zealand were all out for 327.

Black Caps defeated India in the ICC World Cup 2019 semi-final, but with several changes in squad, the hosts remained fans favorite, and today they took home ground advantage count.
