No sh*t! This American claims world record for largest collection of dinosaur poop

BRADENTON, Florida - A Florida man has earned the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of coprolite, or fossilized feces.

George Frandsen, 36, entered the new Guinness World Records 2017 Edition last week with an extraordinary collection - the world’s largest collection of coprolite, otherwise known fossilized poop.

His collection features samples from 15 states and eight other countries throughout the world, the Guinness Record stated.

The largest piece in Frandsen's collection weighs 4 pounds and 3.5 ounces. He's nicknamed it "Precious."

The Miocene epoch sample is between 23.8-5.3 million years old and was produced by a huge crocodilian species in South Carolina.

Frandsen's collection was documented at the South Florida Museum in Bradenton, and each piece was inspected to ensure its authenticity before he was given the record.

Frandsen said the samples are similar - hard and rock-like in texture and do not smell - but added anyone looking to rival his massive collection should be passionate.

Frandsen’s advice for anyone looking to set a world record is: “Have passion, lots of passion for whatever they’re doing. Mine is coprolite - fossilised faeces ... whatever your passion you should follow it.”

His collection appears in the new Guinness World Records 2017 Edition alongside loads of extraordinary collections.
