LAHORE (Staff Report) – Pakistan cricket team former captain Shahid Afridi is unlikely for the group stage of National T20 tournament after MRI reveals tear in his right knee and doctors have advised at least seven days of rest.
Afridi underwent precautionary MRI scans on Wednesday after feeling pain in his knee.
According to Afridi, he was feeling pain in his right knee since he returned home from UK and went to get precautionary scans ahead of national T20 tournament.
Afridi, however expressed confidence that he will be able to participate in matches in later part of the tournament.
The group stages of National T20 tournament will be played from August 25th to September 11th and Afridi was picked to represent Islamabad team, which will be led by Umar Gul.
