ISLAMABAD – For the first time, a man was awarded sentence under cyber crime act for filming an objectionable video of a woman through secret camera and sharing it on social media.
The convict, Azhar Safdar, who was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), was awarded one and half year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 200,000.
According to the FIA authorities, it is the first punishment given to culprit under the cyber crime act.
Earlier, the FIA arrested a woman accused of blackmailing a man on social media from Sialkot under Cyber Crime Act.
A complaint lodged with the FIA alleged that a woman named Sadia Mirza had sent threatening, abusive, and lewd messages to London-based Ahsan Rana through popular social networking website Facebook and demanded money.
