Dunya News served notice for airing fake news

LAHORE – The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has served a legal notice to a private news channel for telecasting “a baseless, false and fabricated news item” against it.

The notice says Dunya News TV aired the news that a team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore raided the office of the company and seized their official records.

The company clarified that the incident never took place, adding that it suffered enormous reputation and goodwill loss due to the fake news.

The notice issued by the company through Advocate Chaudhry Atta Elahi addressing the managing director of the news channel says, “The core team of Our Client is also suffering through severe mental repression and loss of reputation which we gained after serving for a long period of time in the field”.

The company warned the broadcaster to telecast an apology within three days or face appropriate legal action.
