Imran accuses Maryam Nawaz of forcing party members to abuse him

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Thursday claimed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz had been forcing PML-N leaders to abuse him in public.

“Maryam Nawaz gives PML-N leaders incentives to abuse me and she also threatens them if they don’t do so,” the PTI chief said while talking to newsmen after Panamagate proceedings.

Imran further said that maligning him before the media would not help save the premier in the apex court regarding Panama case.

“PML-N leaders think by labelling me as a dishonest man, they can save Nawaz Sharif from accountability. It is PML-N’s habit to accuse other political parties of corruption in order to blackmail them,” he added.

When asked about PML-N leaders’ request to stop commenting publicly on SC proceedings, Imran said, “Calling a thief a thief or a corrupt man, corrupt is not wrong.”

The legislator maintained that a man who comes into power with one factory and multiplies it into 30 factories, is nothing but corrupt.

Earlier, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq urged to stop commenting on proceedings of apex court.

“It is a matter which is being dealt by the top court, then why is it being discussed with the media?” Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique questioned.
