MULTAN —  Harassment incidents continue to be reported in parts of Pakistan, and in latest incident, a lecturer of Islamia University has been apprehended after allegations of harassment and blackmail involving a female student.

The action comes after a student filed First Information Report (FIR) against a lecturer, who reportedly harassed the girl with lewd messages and explicit videos.

The accused reportedly threatened the female student, asserting that she would fail her exams and face expulsion if she did not comply with his demands for an illicit relationship. This blatant abuse of power sparked outrage within academic community, raising concerns about student safety and ethical conduct among faculty members.

The law enforcement officials acted swiftly, ensuring lecturer’s arrest and emphasizing their commitment to the victim’s safety and well-being.

Reports in local media said the varsity has not released any official statement regarding incident, leaving many within the community seeking answers and accountability.
