Stallions Beat Dolphins By 174 Runs In Champions One Day Cup

FAISALABAD – A stellar bowling display powered Stallions to a commanding 174-run victory over Dolphins in the seventh match of the Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Thursday.

Chasing a 272-run target, Dolphins crumbled to 90 all out in 25 overs. Jahandad Khan and Mehran Mumtaz were the stars with the ball, each claiming three wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf took two apiece, dismantling the Dolphins’ batting lineup.

Sahibzada Farhan top-scored for Dolphins with 32 runs, and Asif Ali contributed 21, but no other batter could withstand the relentless bowling.

Earlier, an unbeaten century from Babar Azam guided Stallions to set a target of 272. Openers Shan Masood (34) and Yasir Khan (46) provided a solid start with a 76-run partnership. After their dismissal, Babar and Tayyab Tahir added 57 more before Qasim Akram broke the stand.

Babar scored 104 off 100 balls, with Hussain Talat chipping in 23.

In the previous match, Kamran Ghulam’s brilliant century, along with all-round performances by Salman Ali Agha and skipper Mohammad Rizwan’s crucial half-century, helped Markhors defeat Dolphins by 92 runs.

Markhors have now won all three matches, leading the points table, while Dolphins remain winless after three games, stuck at the bottom.
