Passenger plane crashes in South Sudan killing dozens

KHARTOUM – A passenger plane South Supreme Airliner has crashed at Wau Airport in South Sudan killing dozens of people on board, Metro news reported.

Firefighters rushed towards the plane when it crashed, but were unable to do anything to help those on board.

The crash is believed to have happened when the jet came down to land after flying from Juba to Wau.

Authorities are yet to give details of the number of casualties, but South Sudan’s Eye radio is reporting that nine people were pulled alive from the wreckage to be taken to the hospital.
