RIFFA – Misbah-ul-Haq hit 121 and Shahid Afridi 79 to inspire Misbah Falcons to a brilliant 69 runs win over Irfan Eagles in Bahrain Cricket Festival’s only T20 match at the National Stadium in Riffa on Friday.
Batting first, Misbah Falcons scored 244 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The 42-year-old smashed 121 runs off 38 balls with the help of 10 sixes whereas Shahid Afridi made 79 off 49 and hammered five sixes.
Irfan Pathan’s (Irfan Eagle) was bowled out at 175 for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated overs. Marlon Samuels remained the top scorer with 72 runs. Rana Naveed, Sohail Tanvir and Misbahul-Haq got one wicket apiece for Falcons.
The event was organised by Taranjeet Singh, a young Pakistani Sikh, for Pakistani and Indian expats in the Gulf nation.
Pop band Stereo Nation and Pakistani actress Neelam Muneer also performed during the festival.
