ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – A number of power projects are near to completion and as a result 13000 MW of electricity would be added to the national grid by 2017.
According to Radio Pakistan, sources in Ministry of Water and Power have said that country would get rid of load-shedding by the end of 2017 or in early 2018.
“They said the country is presently facing an electricity shortfall of 5,000 MW,” the report further added.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif considers energy crisis as the most important problem being faced by the country and has vowed to resolve the same on war footings.”
The report concluded that energy projects of up to 24,000 MW were currently under process.
