Lahore (web Desk) – The students of Lahore University OF Management Sciences and AIESEC successfully hosted 2 days Convention on Social Media at LUMS. SMC was held on 20th and 21st February. The basic aim of SMC was to bridge the gap between trainers and media enthusiasts and revolutionize the way people perceive social media for not just connecting on a personal level but on professional level. SMC provided students a platform to celebrate Social Marketing for a better tomorrow.
The Convention gave people the opportunity to enter the digital world of marketing through expert talks, discussion and practical activities. In addition SMC also provided a chance to students to engage with marketing stake holders and social media enthusiasts from all around the Pakistan.
The two-day convention was a fully planned event with some of the best Social Media Experts and Speakers. On day 1, Saad Hamid, Founder of digital empowerment initiative and Invest to Innovate shared some of the most interesting facts and stories of success with the delegates. He talked about importance of digital revolution in developing countries. This was followed by a field activity where group of delegates presented plans of new start ups. Assam Khalid also gave an interesting session on Digital marketing on Day 1.
Ali Moeen Nawazish, an Alevel World Record Settler and a media enthusiast also spoke at the event. He talked about how to find and penetrate into the right audience.
Day 2 was more of a fun filled day with some interesting activities and panel discussions. There was an instameet session where famous instagrammers from all across Pakistan came and delegates were made to flaunt interesting ideas to showcase a positive image of Pakistan through instagram.
Instameet session was followed by words from few entrepreneurs who were at start up stage and discussed their success stories towards their journey through social media. Amim Shafiq, Founder and C.E.O of a social media application Blazt shared his experience of coming up with an idea of an app like twitter or snapchat and taking it further.
It was then followed by panel discussion and finally Rachel Chen, US consulate’s Public Affair officer also spoke at the event.
The day ended with a fine hi-tea for all. AIESEC successfully arranged another event for promoting youth of Pakistan by providing them exchange and other opportunities like this where they get to have best learning experience.
