ISLAMABAD – An Iranian classic film, directed by Majid Majidi, was screened in Pakistani capital and warmly welcome by a good number of audience on Saturday.
The ‘Mandwa Film Club’ organised the film screening at Pakistan National Institute for Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Library in Islamabad.
A good number of people of different age groups watched the movie with great interest. The audience appreciated the quality of the movie, terming it a masterpiece. They asked for more Iranian films to be screened in Pakistan.
Bacheha-Ye aseman (original title) is the story of a boy who loses his sister’s pair of shoes, and goes on a series of adventures in order to find them. When he can’t, he tries a new way to “win” a new pair for his sister.
‘Children of Heaven’ was first premiered in February 1997 at the Tehran Fajr Film Festival and was awarded several national film awards. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998.–Agencies
