ISLAMABAD – Senior members of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz slated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday over their 100-day action plan terming it “incoherent and incomplete”.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that as the country enters the next electoral phase, the issue was not of 100 days but the next 1,825 days.
Taking a jibe at the Imran Khan-led PTI, Iqbal drew a juxtaposition and said one is a presentation party and the other is a performance party adding Pakistan cannot be won through presentations but through performance.
“Imran’s 100-day plan is not based on reality; the party is mocking the people,” he added.
The interior minister, who recently recovered from a gun attack, lamented that his arch-nemesis Imran had also presented a 100-day plan for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2013 but the plan never materialised.
The interior minister further said that the public will decide in the upcoming general election regarding which party performed better.
Iqbal also highlighted the progress made by PML-N in the last five years and declared that energy, economy, education and elimination of extremism were major issues in 2013 but claimed that economy grew the most in 13 years during PML-N’s five-year tenure.
“Today, Pakistan is strong as compared to 2013, we solved Pakistan’s issues and fulfilled all promises made,” he asserted.
The security czar also took a sarcastic jibe at Imran Khan and dubbed him a NATO Commander; “No Action, Talk Only”.
“Before our government, the percentage of development was 3% which has now swelled by 2%,” asserted Ahsan.
He also slammed Imran Khan for ‘trying to copy Lahore metro bus’ but decried that four years have passed, and the metro bus is nowhere to be seen.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail scrutinized the financial details of PTI’s 100-day plan, saying the plan will cost Rs1.6 trillion more, however, the party was silent about how to generate funds.
The rejoinder came in response to PTI’s 100-day plan revealed on Sunday which highlighted the basic contours of PTI’s strategy if it assumes power.
PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and former secretary general Jahangir Tareen presented parts of the agenda at an event in the federal capital.

The agenda includes transformation in governance, revitalisation of economic growth and ensuring the country’s national security and PTI chairman pinned hope that they would implement the plan.

The PTI chief, making multiple religious references in his address, said that he envisions a Pakistan in which a leader is accountable even for the death of an animal.
“All policies under this 100 days agenda will look into how to make education, employment and other basic rights accessible to the common man,” said Khan.
“A civilised society is not known by how many big houses are constructed in Defence Housing Authorities, or now in Bahria [Town], but how people in the slums live,” he added.
Khan said that the temperatures in Pakistan were rising because of climate change which is a reality and that its effects can only be mitigated by planting more trees. He regretted that the party’s Billion Tree Tsunami project in KP was criticised by the PML-N despite being acknowledged by international organisations.
