Nearly six years, 10.3 million Americans tuned in to watch the finale of hit TV series Breaking Bad but turns out the story isn’t quite finished yet.
Netflix has announced that it will release a Breaking Bad film, based on Aaron Paul’s mercurial meth cook Jesse Pinkman. The film, called El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, was written and helmed by Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, and will be stream on Netflix on October 11.
“It’s a chapter of Breaking Bad that I didn’t realize I wanted,” Paul said in an interview. “And now that I have it, I’m so happy that it’s there.”
Netflix has provided zero plot spoilers. The summary provided states, “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”
In an interview, Aaron Paul revealed that the film was as much a revelation to him as it would be to fans of the show as he believed he bid farewell to the Breaking Bad universe after that finale.
“It was a hard, emotional thing for all of us,” Paul said. “And when the finale happened, we all got together and hugged it out and said I love you. And that was it.”
