Pakistan s first blind civil servant Saima Saleem honored by PM Nawaz

GENEVA (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appreciated the services of the country’s first blind civil servant Saima Saleem, during his visit to Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Saima Saleem is working as the Second Secretary on Human Rights at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations at Geneva.

The Prime Minister in an interaction with Saima Saleem paid tribute to the woman diplomat for her courage and dedication to serve the nation.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lauded the commitment of  Saima Saleem, who he said was not deterred by her disability in discharge of official duties while serving at an important position in Geneva since 2013.

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Saima Saleem, the visually impaired diplomat who is an MA in English Literature as well, joined Pakistan’s foreign services in 2009 after she earned sixth position in CSS examination. She was declared number one among female students.
