CM Buzdar refuses to deliver speech despite PA Speaker s request: report

LAHORE – Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar was not able to deliver his speech on the issue of budget in the assembly despite directives by the Speaker.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi asked the chief executive to deliver the speech as the house was debating the budget presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf regime on Thursday.

However, Usman Buzdar did not stand up, raising concerns among the lawmakers from the treasury benches. According to a news agency, Buzdar was asked twice by the speaker to comment on the budget, in line with the traditions, however, he kept sitting.

After a few minutes, the chief minister’s staff handed him over a page, following which he made a speech for approximately six minutes.

In his speech, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar made clear to all that neither they would allow anyone to commit something wrong nor let anyone stop the PTI from doing the right thing.

‘It is a credit for us they did not hide anything in the budget from the nation. The next budget will be produced with complete preparation,’ the CM vowed.

He also announced the provision of two months extra salary for the staff of the assembly.

The chief minister is criticised for not being authoritative and vocal in his public appearances; some of the political analysts and rivals also claim that Chief minister Usman Buzdar is not able enough to read a file even, but was appointed to the top slot in the most populous province.
