ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi has said that reconciliation must be given a chance to achieve durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Speaking at a seminar on “Seeking Solutions and Managing Afghan Refugees in Pakistan” in Islamabad, he said Pakistan as a member of the Quadrilateral Coordination Group is fully seeking solutions to Afghan refugee issue.
He said enhanced stability has given the Afghan government confidence to take ownership of integrating the returnees in the national development plans.
Fatemi said provision of basic services, employment opportunities, and land titles catered exclusively for returnees in the National Development Plans, can help achieve the desired results.
