ISLAMABAD – Police in the federal capital on Friday night arrested Irfan Siddiqui, a journalist and close aide of former premier Nawaz Sharif.
According to media reports, the police arrested Irfan Siddiqui for violating a tenancy law and took him to the Ramna police station but later on shifted him to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police station.
Siddiqui had rented his house without informing police, for which a case under Section 188 was registered at the police station.
Siddiqui’s son has also confirmed the arrest.
