Iraqi forces recapture Ramadi as ISIS fighters flee

BAGHDAD (Staff Report) – Iraqi forces have recaptured all of the government offices and major military bases in Ramadi city which was previously held by Islamic State militants.

According to a spokesman for Iraqi Ministry for Defence the key military complex was now under control of forces and there was no sign of ISIS fighters, who according to him left most parts of city before forces arrived.

He however admitted that small number of ISIS fighter could still be present in the parts of city.

This is second major success of Iraqi forces against Islamic State militant group. The militant group yet remains to formally concede defeat in the city.
