Nawaz Sharif again questions worth of judgments by top court

KOT MOMIN – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once again raised questions about the worth of decisions given by the supreme court citing his rival Imran Khan’s comments that the verdict against him was weak.

Addressing his loyalists at Kot Momin on Wednesday, the former premier declared that those who did not respect people’s vote would not be respected in return.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz ‘Quaid for life’ also took aim at the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan, barring party leaders from contesting Senate elections using the party’s platform, equating it to pre-poll rigging.

“This is unfair. This is what’s being meted out to the largest political party in the country,” he said, adding that he was not the one to back down.

The PML-N chief asked supporters to stand with him in his fight for the country.

“They’re trying to kick me out, but the people are bringing me back in, this is a fight for Pakistan’s survival, for your rights, and we will win this fight,” said the elder Sharif.

The former lawmaker expressed that after removing him as PM, they (judiciary) didn’t stop there and instead used that as a basis to remove him as president of the party.

“They don’t care about the millions of voters,” he further remarked.

Nawaz also termed Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as brilliant partners.

Let it be known that Sharif lost the presidency of his party after the apex court ruled against him, stating a disqualified individual cannot become the head of a political party.
