LAHORE – Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju which is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt’s life has already been a part of a controversy earlier due to a leaking toilet scene which portrayed a bad image of Indian jail authorities. However the latest is that a complaint has been lodged against Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor due to a scene seen in the trailer which was deemed offensive by viewers.
The complaint has been filed by activist Gaurav Gulati, “The complaint wants to draw your kind notice towards the outrageous and cheap dialogues being used in the upcoming movie, namely, Sanju by the Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma,” the letter stated, ANI reports.
What the scene consisted of showed Anushka asking Ranbir a personal question. Both the actors were playing their respective characters, Anushka being a biographer and Ranbir playing Sanju. The question was regarding Sanju’s affairs to which his response was that he provided a round off figure – 350. “308, without counting the sex workers.”
The above statement has no been taken well and we wonder what would be the justification to it as viewers feel like this was a derogatory remark towards sex workers.
