AirBnB is under fire for having hidden cameras inside homes

LAHORE – Four outraged guests have reported discovering cameras where they shouldn’t be to The Atlantic, and accuse Airbnb of treating them poorly and endangering their safety after they reported the incidents.

Airbnb is an online marketplace which lets people rent out their properties or spare rooms to guests. Airbnb takes 3% commission of every booking from hosts, and between 6% and 12% from guests.

Max Vest was staying in an Airbnb in Miami and January and was headed to sleep when he discovered two hidden cameras facing the bed.

‘I didn’t know if I was being watched live. What I’ve found since is that [the cameras] record to a memory card, but they can also stream live. The host could’ve been watching. Anybody could have been watching,’ Vest said to the magazine.

This is a breach of privacy and AirBnB is under fire for it currently. Book your stays safely guys!
