CALIFORNIA – US tech giant Apple is going to launch four new iPhones this year, according to a report.
The upcoming addition to the Apple family will include two OLED models at 5.8-inches (2nd generation iPhone X) and 6.5-inches (2nd generation iPhone X Plus), and two LCD model at 4.0-inches (iPhone SE 2) and 6.1-inches.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, of KGI Securities, wrote on Macrumors.com on Monday that the 6.5-inch OLED model will pack an L-shaped battery between 3,300 and 3,400mAh and the 5.8-inch OLED iPhone to include a 2,700 to 2,800mAh battery with supplier Unimicron acting as the leading producer.
According to Kuo, the second-generation iPhone X and a larger 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus will have an increased 4GB of RAM.
‘Weird smartphone’
The 6.1-inch iPhone is probably going to be ‘a weird smartphone’ in a way. First of all, its size is going to be larger than regular iPhone X and smaller than the new iPhone X Plus. Secondly, the smartphone will have only one main camera instead of the iPhone X’s two. And finally, it will be using an LCD screen instead of OLED.
Both iPhone X models will have 4GB of RAM while the 6.1-inch iPhone will feature a 3GB of RAM.
The new iPhone X, iPhone X Plus, and lower-priced 6.1-inch iPhone are expected to launch this year.
Meanwhile, iPhone SE 2 has also been rumoured to be arriving in March with an A10 Fusion chip, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB and 128GB storage capacities, and a slightly larger 1,700 mAh battery.
