LAHORE (Staff Report) – Governor Punjab Malik Rafique Rajwana has said that Aitchison College Principal Dr Agha Ghazanfar was fired as per college rules and regulations and due approval in this regard has given by College Board of Governors. There is no question of irregularities in this regard.
Governor Punjab was talking to Daily Pakistan exclusively.
When asked about that Ex Principal Dr Agha Ghazanfar was fired for refusing admissions to grandsons of rich and influential.
“He cleared that BOG had received disciplinary complaints about Dr Ghazanfar. Afterwards Board of Governors called a meeting which unanimously decided to fire him. Single member of BOG opposed his immediate removal and had the view that Dr Ghazanfar should also be heard. But afterward he was also convinced, he added.”
He said that there was no pressure on him for making admissions against merit.
It is pertinent to mention here that these explanation are vague and Governor Punjab avoided to mentions any specific charges against sacked Principal Dr Agha Ghazanfar.
