ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawmaker and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Maleeka Ali Bokhari has rejected her appointment as Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Maleeka wrote on Twitter that she categorically puts it on record that neither she had been appointed as head of BISP nor she was related to Zulfi Bokhari.

Earlier, it emerged on media that President Dr Arif Alvi has appointed Maleeka Ali Bukhari as chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) on the advice of the Prime Minister.
“Maleeka Ali Bukhari is appointed as chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), in terms of section 5 (3) of Benazir Income Support Programme Act, 2010, with immediate effect and until further orders,” a notification circulating in media said.
The BISP is a flagship programme for eradication of poverty and elevating the status of marginalized and under-privileged sections of society, especially women, through the establishment of comprehensive social protection net.
